Neuromuscular specialises in understanding of how the muscular system & nervous systems relationship work together when dealing with pain management, freedom of movement, and self care.
"Trigger points are hyperirritable spots located in a taut band of skeletal muscle." They produce pain locally & are the cause of most referred pain patterns. They manifest as tension headaches, postural discomfort, decreased range of motion, and low back pain.

A massage immediately after exercise (a marathon) again is short, a little slower and helps with recovery to minimise the after effects of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) - inflamed & damaged muscle cells. If you are in training, massage regularly is recommended however this needs to be scheduled into your training routine, preferably your rest day.
